Embroidery Designs

Sweater: Étoile Isabel Marant // Jeans and Belt: H&M // Shoes: Jimmy Choo

Sometimes deciding what to wear, when you feel like you have absolutely nothing to wear, can be so drab and tedious. Last week as I was getting dressed for a girlfriend's birthday dinner I was fashionably uninspired. In moments like these I turn to all black. The trick to wearing all black is playing with texture and accessories; I love the intricate embroidery on both the sweater and the jeans. And of course, I completed the outfit with my Choos for a pop of color and my usual jewelry.

What are your guys' go-to's when you're in a fashion rut?

Imola Red

Top: Phillip Lim // Jeans: Free People (old) // Shoes: Jimmy Choo // Necklace: Forever21

Anyone who knows me knows that I love cars; I've loved cars since long before I even loved fashion. About six years ago I had to recover from having to get rid of my beloved BMW 335i. I say recover because 1) it was a graduation present from my parents and 2) I had dumped a load of dinero on modifications. Unfortunately, due to mechanical issues I had to return it to the dealer.

Fast forward to today, I've been blessed enough to have purchased, on my own, my childhood dream car - and in my favorite color: red! So naturally, I wanted to feature her (yes, it is a she) for a blog shoot. Since she added a splash of color as my background, I decided to keep the outfit simple and neutral. I predict this Phillip Lim top - another consignment find - will be in heavy rotation in my wardrobe so expect to see plenty of it. Oh and the Choos, too! I should've probably kept my shoes black or maybe even nude, but I can't help myself, they don't deserve to stay packed away in their box.

Happy Monday all!!

Night Lights

Shirt: BDG from UO // Pants: Ann Taylor (old) // Wallet: Prada // Shoes: Manolos

Just a short post today. This getup was something I threw on to have dinner with my little sister this past weekend.  To make a long story short, we didn't plan on taking night photos and I stupidly didn't bring the flash. So, we were forced to make do with the available light. So please pardon the poor lighting and yellow tinge - in the future, I will be more prepared. On a better note, it's Friday! I hope you all have a wonderful, wonderful weekend!!

Finally Distressed

Top: Phillip Lim // Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters  (old) // Shoes: Jimmy Choo // Purse: Louis Vuitton // Shades: Ray-Ban

Hi Lovelies!!! Please forgive me for my absence - I had some things to take care of, but I'm back and excited to continue my journey into the blog world. As mentioned last Friday, I wanted to share with you my latest, and oh the greatest, addition to my wardrobe: my first pair of Jimmy Choos! I initially wanted a silver patent pair, but when I saw these watersnake beauties adorned in metallic-y turquoise goodness, I had to have them! They're so unbelievably comfortable I might switch to Choos as my go-to single sole pump from now on. To double the weekend good-ness, my sister overheard me saying how I needed a pair of distressed jeans in my life, and replied, "Oh, I bought a pair long time ago, and never wore them, do you want?" To which I responded, "Give them to meeeee!" So there you have it. The weather was nice, although a little too warm for my liking, but 'twas a de-stressed weekend indeed!

Hanging On

Top: Love Culture // Parka: Hollister Co. // Pants: Wilfred from Aritzia // Shoes: Charles David // Shades: Ray-Ban // Purse: Sanrio Hello Kitty

It was a beautiful day yesterday. The kind of day when it isn't too warm or too cool. Perfect.
As you can see, I jumped on the let's-hang-our-coats/jackets-over-the-shoulder bandwagon. I know. I tried not to, but it just makes you ooze chic. Try it! See? Told you so. I chose the parka (thanks sis!) because I like how it's laid back feel contrasts with the more dressy, corporate-ish button-up shirt and tuxedo style pants. This top was actually another find from Crossroads. Speaking of, I think I'm due for another needed visit to stock up on Spring finds. Because after my package that is due to arrive today shows up, I'm putting myself on a super strict shopping diet. So stay tuned for it's reveal!

Happy Friday and I hope you all have a great weekend.

Crossing Over

T-Shirt: Old Navy // Shirt: BDG Urban Outfitters // Pants: Zara // Belt: Old Navy (old) // Shoes: Charles David

I became obsessed with pinstripes after I saw Rooney Mara rock this pinstriped perfection from the Balenciaga Resort 2013 collection. So when I saw these on Zara I immediately clicked "add to cart." I think I need to have more navy colored items as a neutral in my closet; blue is the new black.

Wishful Wednesday

Spring Florals

I've been craving for a floral blazer and a pair of distressed jeans lately. This blazer in particular is very reminiscent of this Stella beauty. That price point, however, is unrealistically unobtainable - at least for my wallet. So this, ladies and gentlemen, is the look I conjured up for today. Happy Wednesday!!!

1. Zara Floral Blazer
2. Old Navy Vintage Tee Shirt
3. Ray-Ban eyewear
4. Current/Elliott skinny jeans
5. Zara Black and White heels

Print and Pattern

Top: Proenza Schouler // Jacket: Tibi // Pants: BCBG Max Azria // Shoes: Miu Miu // Shades: RayBan

I felt like stepping out of my comfort zone today. Initially this outfit was all black with the printed jacket. But I decided to switch things up and add more print.  Nabbed this Proenza top on sale from Forward by Elyse Walker near the end of last year. The jacket I got on sale from Piperlime a while back. And these ultra comfortable Miu Miu ballet flats were a find from Crossroads.

I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

Wind Advisory

Sweater: T by Alexander Wang // Leather Jacket: AllSaints // Jeans: 7 for All Mankind // Booties: H&M // Purse: Louis Vuitton // Shades: RayBan // Necklace and Beanie: Forever21

Just a quick post today. This was a result of me throwing whatever I can to keep warm. Yesterday the winds were relentless and made a photo shoot nearly impossible.

On another note, my prayers and thoughts are with those in Boston. May the Lord give them strength and comfort during the days to come.  Psalm 147:3.

Red Zebra

Sweater: TNA from Aritzia (similar here) // Skirt: Balenciaga // Shoes: H&M // Watch: Michael Kors // Shades: Miu Miu // Necklace: Forever21

While it's been warm enough during the day to wear skirts, the wind-y-ness in the Bay still hasn't died down. So, I paired this amazing skirt that I found on consignment with this super soft and comfy sweatshirt from Aritzia. I then rounded this ensemble with a cool pair of oxfords; I love how oxfords add a boyish charm and downplays girly silhouettes. Finally, I topped off with a statement necklace from Forever21 that I borrowed from my sister, a Michael Kors watch I scored on Amazon and Miu Miu shades I got on sale from Neiman Marcus Last Call. I think I'm doing well so far with the skirt goal, right? Not too shabby, eh?

Thank You

Top: Club Monaco (old) // Jacket: Ann Taylor (old) // Pants: Balenciaga // Shoes: Casadei // Purse: Sanrio Hello Kitty // Shades: RayBan

I wish you all a wonderful, safe and relaxing weekend. I also want to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has helped and supported me thus far with my new adventure of fashion blogging. It's a dog eat dog world, but I'm doing it mostly for fun but also out of love for the creativity it inspires. First and foremost, I want to thank the good Lord above for all His blessings. Thank you to my sister whom I have dragged along with me as my unofficial photographer. Thank you to my love who is busy studying hard but manages to be my backbone. Thank you to all the loving girls from my church and all my life friends who cheer me on. And lastly thank you to those fellow bloggers who have taken time out of their day to check this out. It has been a truly humbling experience so far - and I'm loving it. God Bless.

Check, Check, Check

Shirt: Equipment // Vest: Brandy Melville // Skirt and Booties: H&M (old) // Shades: RayBan

I think mother nature has lost her damn mind. For the past few days we've experienced gusty winds, random rain (which by the way ruined my newly washed and waxed ride), cold fronts and then today 80s?? To accommodate this heat wave I opted for a slithery silk checked top by Equipment that I purchased on consignment. I've also been keeping an eye out for a more oversized, more lighter wash denim vest, but I have yet to find THE ONE, so I settled for this one that I stole from my lil sheeshter's closet. And finally, sticking to my oath of wearing more skirts and dresses, I rescued this one drowning in the sea of trousers and jeans. Oh! The booties. These poor things. I've beat them up so bad they're starting to rip open - beyond the rescuing abilities of a cobbler. So I'm always looking for a very similar alternative.

Keeping cool with skirts/dresses? Check. Look for the perfect denim vest and booties? Check. Check.  Warming temperatures? No thanks, check please!!!

Here's hoping to more cooler weather so I can wear my beloved sweaters and jackets just a few more times!
